lt508th Posted November 19, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2018 Good morning all, Can anyone here tell me what the material is that was used to make the insert for a M1917 Bolo knife scabbard? I've seen pictures, and it appears to be some sort of crudely sewn up leather, however, I have heard references to wooden inserts. Perhaps the inserts are made of thin wood, and then covered in leather? Not certain, so If anyone know s the answer, or has access to original material documenting how they were made, I'd appreciate any assistance offered. BTW, the pictures offered here are from another USMF posting, and just to help get the conversation started. Thanks! lt508th
