Ant1942 Posted November 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2018 Hey everyone, I was interested if anyone knew how raincoats were sized during WWII. I know they came in small, medium large, etc... but was wondering what that translated to in chest sizes. I have a small for example dated February 1943 (made in December 1942 if i saw the spec tag correctly) and it seems a tad tight for me (38 inches in the chest) with a tanker jacket on. any knowledge about chest size in correlation to the tag size (i.e. small, medium etc.) is greatly appreciated guys. patches Posted November 17, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2018 I think they were done the same way as the wool overcoats. Maybe with the raincoats there is a shrinkage over the years due to the fabric they're made from???
