jwilliamsfnp Posted November 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2018 This is an original 426th Night Fighter Squadron patch given to me by a friend of my fathers in the mid 70s. He was a pilot with the unit and flew in China, killing a lot of trains as he put it. This patch was identical to the patch sewn to his flight jacket which I also had but lost to an unscrupulous adult (collector) as a 12 year old kid. I saw the Jacket on line years ago but was unable to locate the owner that posted the jacket, I would love to buy it back. The pilots name was Craig Elrod. This patch was never sewn on. USARV72 Posted November 14, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2018 Read”Queen of the Midnight Sky”, your library may have it. Unbelievable stories, as the one where the crew finds a Japanese head stuck to the lower rear stablizer during their AM walk around after a mission.
