Javelin4life Posted November 11, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2018 On this 100th anniversary of the armistice of WWI, we must remember not only the victories of the allies, but also the cost to attain that victory. The US Armed Expeditionary Forces would ultimately participate in 14 different campaigns over the almost 2 years they were involved in the Great War, and over 100,000 servicemen would give their lives in the process. This incredible original 1920’s miniature in my collection is both a visual and symbolic testament to the bravery that these men showed under artillery and gun fire, storming through no mans land and coming under gas attacks. This miniature shows every combatant and non combatant campaign the US Military was a part of. It is most likely a salesman’s example used to show veterans the options for the bars which they qualified for. It is an honor to not only be it’s caretaker, but also to share it with you all on this 100th anniversary of the the Great War Armistice.
