48 star Navy Ensign No. 6 - a big, big flag

This is a 48 star US Navy flag, size "ensign no 6" made by Valley Forge.

It is just under 9x17 feet - I think you'd want six to eight people to fold it properly.

I once saw a chart showing the ensign numbers and which type of ships used each size, but I can't find the chart.

Awesome Flag!

I am collecting them by size, they start at a No. 12 as the smallest for PT boats, and go down to a No.1 at the largest for the Battleships.

I bought one of those for the wall in the shop to go next to my Japanese Naval flag in the same size.

WOW! I've never seen a flag that big! To think of the Battleship size! Imagine having to fold them into a flag case . . . you'd have to have a custom flag case!

So, what are you doing with your fab No. 6 flag?
