Is there any way to tell when these were made> The left grip is marked with a 2 and the right has a star with a K and the number 21. Any help would be much appreciated.

I THINK THE K WAS MADE BY KEYS AND THE OTHER LOOKS TO BE EARLY THICK RIB-COLT???

The top one is a Coltwood plastic stock panel. Should have wide reinforcing rings on the other side, around the fastener holes.

The bottom one is a Keyes Fibre Company stock, which would be correct on 1911A1s made by Ithaca, Union Switch & Signal, and Reminton Rand. Early examples will have no reinforcing rings on the outside, only checkering. Later stocks had reinforcing rings added. I will guess it has reinforcing rings, based on the orientation of the star and mold number.

Thanks for the information. Blacksmith, you are spot on. The Keys stock does have the reinforcing ring.

I picked these up at an estate sale for a dollar, hoping they were a matching pair. Can y'all give me an approximate value?

In good condition, unmatched $20-25.  Hold on to them and try to pick up matching Colt and Keyes grips, and you can get $35-$45 for the Colts (again assuming good shape) and $30-$35 for the Keyes.  Individually, $10-$15 each.

Thanks for the info, Thorin6. The Colt shows no sign of ever being used that I can see, although it does appear the upper right corner is chipped. The Keys does show some light use

Not unusual on the Colt, both look in good condition.

Must be a great market where you are at. That is pie-in-the-sky pricing in my experience. I have a freezer bag full of WWII 1911A1 grip panels, and am lucky to get $5 for loose ones.

To the OP, finding a mate to the KF panel will be pretty easy. The Colt less so.
