Highly unusual soldier of fortune ribbon bar group WWII - Korea

Hi all -- I'm driving myself crazy trying to find this ribbon rack. It sold on ebay and/or through an auction house out of Rhode Island within I think the past two years... this was prior to 2018. I thought I saved the auction images, but I can't find them and feel that I have looked everywhere. The auction lot consisted of the custom sewn ribbon pad and some newspaper article detailing this soldiers service. He was from Rhode Island and served with the 1st Cavalry in Korea as an enlistedman. The ribbon bar was a few rows deep, but the top row or so being simply occupation, Korea service, and UN service and all following ribbons being foreign awards from his time during WWII (maybe in merchant marines) and also as a mercenary/soldier of fortune and gun runner during the Arab-Israeli conflict in 1948. I believe he was Jewish...

There was also a photo showing him wearing the ribbons, which was amazing.

That's all I remember and am really kicking myself for not saving anything. I've even searched my emails from ebay to see if it was hidden in a 'You've been outbid on' message.

Does anyone remember this??

Rob

Sorry for the misspelling in the title...that's a rookie mistake.

As I recall, I think it was in a couple of different auctions on eBay. I think one had his ribbons and maybe a few other insignia bits and then one had some medals and newspaper clippings about him.

I'm sure I saved a photo of it, but for the life of me I can't remember what I named it...

Thanks for confirming, Dave...I will search around here, too. I was honestly beginning to think I was dreaming.

Thanks,

Rob

No...you weren't dreaming. I remember it was pretty cool, but the price went higher than I wanted to go on it so I didn't pay attention to it when it closed. I can't remember if I started a thread about it on here or if someone else did...
