I bought this at a gunshow this morning in Manassas Va.I have never seen a nose on an M29 like this.I seached the internet and couldn't find one like it.Looks like rust on the tip.Aren't these usually pot metal. All fins are intact.

BKW,it doesn't look like it ever had a cap or windscreen. The edge is rounded.I lifted this picture from the internet. This one looks like it's one piece at the nose.

Anybody?

Not an expert on rifle launched grenades...but here goes from an Ordnance collector. Nice specimen, hard to find, well marked, desirable. Keep in mind, it has a " T" number, denotes test, after testing and acceptance the T numbers were assigned an M number. My thoughts, could be a very early model, and the nose design was found to be inconsequential , thrown back into the pile to be expended for training. I believe it has not been messed with by Bubba, maybe you are lucky to have a very early test model. A keeper.
