Vertol Posted October 21, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2018 Good afternoon, Cleaning my stuffs, I rediscover this M1932 Mess Kit Meat Can and M1910 Canteen Cup that are unmarked, except the "US" for the Meat Can. I've always though it was Euroclone, but after some researches on the forum, I've found the cup could be a pre-1918 and the mess kit meat can could be Vietnam era. Can you confirm me this ? Thank you. Best regards, Vertol
phantomfixer Posted October 22, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2018 Your mess kit looks like it is the M1942 with stainless body, and should have a stainless handle, with a stamped hinge, however your handle appears to be galvanized....I have seen replacement handles for sale...this might be an unmarked replacement handle on a M1942 stainless kitor an early M42 kit with a galvanized handlehttp://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/248249-mystery-mess-kit/

The only similar one I've found was there http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/298658-undated-can-meat-stainless-steel/ Vertol
