trenchfoot Posted October 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2018 Does anyone know the circumstances that follow me stripes were applied to helmets? Were they only put on helmets during wartime/in combat zones, or could they also be added for garrison wear? I ask because I have a Korean War M1 with a follow me stripe on the shell but the liner has reserve unit decals Thanks!

anton67 Posted October 23, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 23, 2018 I recently sold a 28th Division Helmet which was post war and it had Capt bars and a follow me stripe. I think that they were used by reserve units.
Burning Hazard Posted October 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted October 23, 2018 Yes, the follow me stripes and NCO bars were still worn into the 50's by reserve units and training schools; seen a couple of liners like that. Pat
