Just had to share this way-too-cool picture. Found this while looking for another John Rose. He was a radioman in the 8AF who was KIA in 1944 when his plane went down off of Denmark in the Baltic Sea.

That's a excellent photo- looks like he is wearing a good luck bracelet of some sort on his wrist ( at least it does not appear to a watch band- maybe a home made or field expedient watch band- I believe all radio operators had to have a watch to record time of messages sent and received)

I'd guess the bracelet is an ID bracelet of some sort. Great photo.
