Hello,

What do you think about this T5 parachute harness,

Can you help me identifying it, please.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards, Florent.

WWII Parachutist

This looks like a classic Hightstown Rug Production T-5. Hightstown harnesses were made with a brown dominant olive drab base dye, which later fades to a beige with almost a light pink hue to it. All the stitching is correct for the 3rd quarter 1943 production, and the Griswold V-ring sewn to the wrong side is actually quite common on Hightstown T-5s.

The lightning Bolt stencil identifies it to the 501st PIR. The only thing not typical is the 4 white hand tacks stitching where the back straps cross each other to form an "x". That may have been added later. If you have a close-up of that it would certainly help. Very nice harness though!

Hello!

Thanks a lot for all those explanations!

Would you give me an email address in order to send higher definition pictures, please?

They are too heavy for the forum.

Regards. Flo
