And that would be odd Gregory, considering the troops on the Italian Front got the new gear too like Shoepacs, M43 field Jackets.

Here it is one of my M44 net on a end war helmet, shell Mc Cord (1064G sept oct 1944) with Westinghouse liner

And in the Second Indochina War, soldier here is Colonel Sidney Marks CO 3rd Brigade 1st Infantry Division 66-67 and 3 Time CIB recipient. Helmet net and band may have been an in country left over from the stuff we gave the French.
