Continued use of State Collar disks after arrival in France

I've always been interested in the uniforms and photos where soldier have managed to keep one of their state collar disks instead of using the US, USNA or USNG Disks....

Living here on the east coast I have been able to get several VA and MD examples but wondered what other states' soldiers managed to hang onto their state issued disks--

Here's a VA example from the 29th Division and a photo showing two guys who have managed to keep their Oregon disks--while the 1st SGT seated on the right is wearing a USNG disk and the other two soldiers have US disks.

Any other states out there?

Hey Al, I’ve seen a few Ohio uniforms like that over time....probably more from there than anywhere else.

Recently I was reviewing a collection of SC photographs called "The Composite Soldier" which looks at soldiers of the 32nd Division based on their ethnic, educational, and social backgrounds. The photos were taken in January 1919. I noticed several NG disks and unit marked disks, but also saw this guy:

Here's one more from my collection - A 31st Division soldier that managed to hang onto his Georgia Disk --interesting that he shows a blue service stripe--who knows?
