WWII 1st Special Service Force Studio Portrait Photo...I do not know who this man is.

What a great photo! It is obvious that this sergeant was in Alaska with the Force during the plan to invade Kiska as he has a PTO ribbon with a campaign star. He also has an ETO ribbon with a single campaign star. I am assuming that the first ribbon is a Purple Heart which would explain why he only has one campaign star. The most interesting aspect of the photo is that the sergeant is wearing a FSSF background trimming (oval)! By all accounts, these trimmings were only worn for a very short period of time. The cap patch on the o/seas cap is another thing you don't see very often.
