superchief Posted October 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2018 As part of the US Coast Guard's 100th anniversary of it's aviation division, the Service repainted a few of it's aircraft in "retro" color schemes. The H-60 was repainted at the Service's maintenance facility in Elizabeth City North Carolina. These aircraft will wear the "old school" colors until their next maintenance cycle when they will revert to current CG color schemes.
superchief Posted October 8, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted October 8, 2018 The term "Eggbeater" refers to the early nickname helo pilots gave their aircraft.
superchief Posted October 8, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted October 8, 2018 Egg beaters in flight. I forgot to mention this model is offered by Skunkworks and is 1:48 scale. I used Tamiya rattlecan Yellow for the helo's airframe., the interior, rotors, and other parts were airbrushed.
