rob590ert Posted October 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2018 Wanted to put this up for discussion and future M2 helmet posterity: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/317301-fs-m2-helmet-that-you-will-never-have-to-replace/&do=findComment&comment=2548423 Looks like everything about this one is wrong. Heat stamp, feet on the loops, straps, etc.
Bugme Posted October 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 7, 2018 Uh, yeah, it would be a stretch calling it an actual M-2. 232 is the highest known stamp.
crotalus358 Posted October 7, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2018 This one looks like an older J Murray Inc. repro, but I could be wrong. As stated, the heat lot number is well outside of the known range for M2's. The chinstaps look to be J Murray's type of repro in my humble opinion. There are plenty of folks on here that know far more about these.

Burning Hazard Posted October 8, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 8, 2018 D-bails have wrong feet, heat stamp in wrong range, chinstraps are reproductions, and the A-yokes on the liner look like reproductions. Unfortunately this helmet is a fabrication; not an original M2 Pat
