teufelhund Posted October 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2018 Hello, from over here… Tomorrow ,October 8th we will celebrate the 100 anniversary of Serg Alvin C York heroic raid at Hill 223 , Chatel Chéhéry France. Sgt York was credited to have captured "singelhandly" with the help of 16 buddies, 132 german prisoners, and having killed 25 more. Today October 7th 2018 a mémorial ceremony toke place on the very spot where it happens , remembering this events. Colonel YORK US Army attended the ceremony . I was over for the St Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne commemorations but could not stay until the ones for Sgt York.
