iron bender Posted October 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2018 Curious about the grenade on the left with the yellow hash-mark below the yellow band. Why the hash-mark? Appears to be done with a purpose. Fuze is M200a1 over stamped M10A3. I know for fact this set is as it was during WW2. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! tommatt3 Posted October 11, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2018 Perhaps it is just a blemish from over painting the yellow grenades O.D. in service.
Garandomatic Posted October 11, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2018 Might be an errant brush stroke. I posted a picture about Burnham Boiler mkIIs and it showed workers stripping and packing the bodies.
917601 Posted October 11, 2018 Share #4 Posted October 11, 2018 Alittle off subject, but grenade painting was not exact, especially in Ordnance. Here is a pic of the pre 42 yellow grenades being repainted, some would have to go back and brush paint a yellow stripe when dry. Note the fuze assemblys are still attached. By TM, fuze assemblies were not painted, nor the spoons, but collectors find loads of them. This guy does not look to enthusiastic. My 2c, just a hic cup when pushing the brush on his 600th one.
