AirMechanic Posted September 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2018 Is it legal to sell US Government or US Customs license plates like the ones I posted images of? Will eBay allow their sale? Do they have any value to license plate collectors? Thanks

268th C.A. Posted September 28, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 28, 2018 I can almost guarantee they will kick it off....
Cobra 6 Actual Posted September 29, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 29, 2018 EBay may kick them off, but there are some older US Government plates that have recently made it through the gauntlet.
aznation Posted September 29, 2018 Share #5 Posted September 29, 2018 Could always offer them on this forum if you wanted.
AirMechanic Posted September 30, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted September 30, 2018 Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to ultimately make sure that they werent illegal to own or sell, as I can see how they might cause issues (more so the US Government plate). BEAST Posted October 1, 2018 Share #7 Posted October 1, 2018 The Deparrment of Homeland Security (DHS) appears to be a current plate. The other is an obsolete plate.
gwb123 Posted October 1, 2018 Share #8 Posted October 1, 2018 There was one current issue plate sold on eBay in July. https://www.ebay.com/itm/U-S-GOVERNMENT-LICENSE-PLATE-Truck-G43-1-Ton-RARE-/113141204145?hash=item1a57bdc4b1%3Ag%3AvPQAAOSwVpRbQ3j3&nma=true&si=EqdwfSkxkwLCn88ayUX1zU8iahc%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 However, the one you have is for the Department of Homeland Security, who are not known for taking things lightly. Personally, I would not advertise that I owned this or had it for sale.
BEAST Posted October 1, 2018 Share #9 Posted October 1, 2018 There is the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPACA) that might be able to help. THeir website is at https://www.alpca.org/
