Justin Posted July 31, 2019 Share #302 Posted July 31, 2019 Well thanks for clearing that up. Not sure what Im seeing there? Hence the question mark. Been looking for songs about tennesee from that era. Rocky top is the only one I found but I don't see rocky top. Thats just going by the other song titles on the cover. Thinking its prob another song. What do you think Justin? Yea thats what I thought. Thanks Justin. You've been helpful. LOL!?!? Didn't mean to hurt your feelings????????????????????? Perhaps Tennessee was the original owners home state.
The Rooster Posted July 31, 2019 Share #303 Posted July 31, 2019 lol..... You know that could be it? Its all a huge guess. All I can make out is what looks like Tennesee. Overall the lid strikes me as a genuine Nam lid? But who can say for sure. Thank you Justin! Rooster.
Sgt. Stubby Posted July 31, 2019 Share #304 Posted July 31, 2019 Thanks BOLO for the heads up on the 1965 Newsweek ARVN Ranger cover. I just snagged a copy from Ebay for $15 shipped. Nice collectable, frame-able, easy-to-store-able, and much more afford-able than the 3-D version! There's a couple more issues up on Fleabay right now $15 - $25 shipped. Luxview Posted August 1, 2019 Share #309 Posted August 1, 2019 Bringing the thread back to the top with a new addition. WW2 era shell and KW liner with 1970 cover and Captains bar. It is named to a Pearlman and all components match each other. Justin Posted August 2, 2019 Share #316 Posted August 2, 2019 it was said this soldier later died after evac, but there is no real way to tell. the damage is pretty convincingThe sellers story is a total fairtail IMO. The helmet is nice but the white pad indicates post VN war use. The helmet IMO was most likely damaged during some type of training exercise. shadawg Posted August 3, 2019 Share #320 Posted August 3, 2019 Again hard to tell for sure. I guess either people will have to hit the I believe button or not. I am curious on more details of the extra padding though. I don't really have too much info on vietnam era or otherwise m1's. As far as I've seen, extra padding has been a thing since the adaptation of the system
