bn1961 Posted September 22, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2018 Let me throw this out here. I recently picked this up. Blade is marked Simmons Hardware Co. St Louis USA, MADE IN ENGLAND. The S in Simmons is mostly ground off. Can anyone give me info on this USA ENGLAND knife?

Charlie Flick Posted September 23, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2018 That's an interesting knife. It is a civilian hunting knife sold by the famed Simmons Hardware concern. It went bankrupt in 1939, but not before merging with Winchester Arms and buying out Walden Knife Co. It was famed for its array of Keen Kutter brand knives and tools. I am not sure about the Made in England reference, although at one time many English knives were sold by US retailers, usually under proprietary brand names. Your knife appears to have been re-handled and thus resembles the many types of theater knives made during WW2. HTH. Regards, Charlie
