Stahlberg Posted September 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2018 I recently bought this grouping from a fellow forum member, and have researched and come up with a quick biography about this soldier. I now have groupings to two members of Company B of the 316th Signal, 91st Division. Asher Zeta Hadley was born on November 10th, 1888 to Edwin and Martha Hadley in Scotia, Nebraska. By 1910, Asher was living with his father in Hillsdale, Michigan. In 1917, when Asher registered for the draft, he had moved to Orofino, Idaho and was working as a Trouble-man for Clearwater Telephone Lines. Asher was called into service, and served in Company B, 316th Field Signal Battalion, 91st Division and was a Sergeant. After his service, he remained in Idaho. By 1920, Asher was still living in Idaho with his wife, Pearl Hadley, and was working a repairman for the telephone company. By 1940, Asher was working as a clerical supervisor for the telephone company. On October 310th, 1951 Asher passed away at the age of 62 in the Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Washington due to Multiple Myeloma. He is buried in Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston, Idaho. Stahlberg Posted September 16, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted September 16, 2018 Closeup of the newspaper clipping. There a pencil mark pointing to one of the soldiers. I can only assume it was him, though cannot verify.
