A Question on WWII Navy Shoulder Patches.

I don't believe they did, only Enlisted did on Jumpers, not even sure CPO's did

 

 

I have a WW2 Chiefs with CB patch.

 

Not sure it was official or done for the ride home/end of war deal.

Strange that officers of these units would not wear them right, i mean why not, they had unit pride too. Would there bbe a regulation some where prohibiting officers, is there a regulation come to think of it regarding the wear of them in general. Warner's books which I have might say something on this. like a BUPERS or something, but I don't feel like looking :lol:

A quick scan through the WW 2 issues of All Hands announces that the shoulder insignia are for enlisted personnel, including CPOs.

Hey found a portrait by accident of a Chief wearing a Navy Shoulder Patch, the Seabees one, a Chief named Ralph Rowland
