I bought a small group of items found in the effects of E V Davis (Edgar Vern Davis) born Perry FL. a Realtor Gainesville, FL Buried Evergreen Cemetery Gainesville. The Campaign Medal is #11770 is a full wrap broach ribbon is almost all gone. The separate ribbon bar is by Whitehead & Hoag, Pat Pending, . There is a National Auxiliary USWV pb Medal with a piece of ribbon. Two Gilt Eagle buttons by Horstmann, US collar sb, United Spanish War Vet Lapel stud, Screw back Crossed Rifles 2/L, a large penny token and a Eagle stud ? with thread broken off and a small Boy Scout button.

My question is there a list of Spanish Campaign numbers issued to Army men? I have a USMC one but would like to confirm that 11770 went to E.V. Davis. Thanks in advance. Also these will be sold on here later but I like to research all I can. (Gives me something to do). :) Richard

Recipient is your man, Verne Davis (note: no E./Edgar and middle name is spelled with two "e's" on the roll), Co L, 2nd TN Vol Inf., so the insignia is his as well. Medal was issued sometime between Aug 1921 and Jan 1922.
