Frank_Smith Posted September 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2018 Good morning! My wife decided to go to some garage sales this morning and bought a small bag of insignia. Some were WWII Army enlisted and officer collar devices. There were also these devices. They are well made and appear to date from the 1920's to 1940's. They are not hallmarked. Does anyone have any ideas as to what they might be? Frank

Wake1941 Posted September 8, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2018 For some reason Im getting a feeling that the TD insignia could be Navy. But this insignia almost looks like police insignia to me too
cavcon Posted September 9, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2018 They appear to be police. Could be Metro DC Police and the TD's stand for Traffic Division. Of course, any department can use them for whatever they call their divisions so nothing is set in stone. But, for sure police.

VolunteerArmoury Posted October 24, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 24, 2018 I agree its most likely not military but I have been told by a few older guys of Tank Destroyer Force wearing insignia of just TD letters prior to their insignia being adopted. Bill Emerson makes a reference to this with the enlist disks.
