usmce4 Posted August 30, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2018 I posted this knife last year http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/295825-custom-handled-early-usmc-1219c2/ but I thought others with similar problems might be interested in this. The knife looked awful in a regulation sheath because the keeper strap was way too high and big for the curve of the handle. I've taken it to every knife show I've gone to looking for a custom sheath that would work but none seemed right because although the handle is "whatever", the blade is a nice early KA-BAR large USMC so I wanted to keep it military looking. I saw Steve S mentioned on here a week or two ago, sent him pics of the knife and described what I wanted and Bingo! Now I have just what the knife belongs in...... a "modified" regulation sheath. mikedon Posted August 30, 2018 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2018 Nice job on the sheath!
thorin6 Posted August 30, 2018 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2018 I had an altered USN Mark 2 that didn't fit well in an issued leather sheath. I was fortunate enough to find a modified WW2 sheath that had the keeper strap moved to a lower position. BTW the knife and sheath look great.
