In talking with the family and the deeper I get into the research my family has found a picture of my Great Grandfather from the Great War. I am not sure when it was taken it has, but something is scribbled on it. Since the unit was in activated from the NG unit I understand why it is 4 G instead of the 166 G from the 42nd Div. Is there anywhere I can find these or replicas of them? I am designed a shadow box for him for the anniversary of WWI and a dedication to my Mom's side of the family. Thank you in advance.

Hello, dont give up there out there, you have too be diligent in the hunt. There are several sights that sell collar insiginia. You will find one sooner or later. Put a want add here on the forum. It might be one in a members box of stuff, they don't really need. As collectors, we all have them. Its hard too leave a WW1 disc at a flea market or show. Good luck! :)

Finding a 4/crossed rifles/G disk won't be too difficult. Be patient, and it will turn up. Multiple states had at least 4 national guard regiments, and the 4th US infantry was active also...in the 3rd Division if memory serves...
