Vietnam may rate as one of the most photographed conflicts in world history.

 

Magnum is a photo agency (I believe from France originally) where professional photographers have posted their works for sale.

 

Skilled press photographers have mastered catching that just perfect, unique moment that summarizes the events around them.

 

These photos are under copywrite and may be purchased through their site.

 

I offer this one as a sample to show what I am saying. Normally we see photos of US advisors to the ARVN Airborne in either heroic or action photos. There is something just a bit more human showing these guys piled into the back of a totally inadequate pick up truck headed off to somewhere. One can only speculate as to their urgency (beer run?) as well as their nature of contempt for the photographer.

 

I haven't paged through all of these yet, and there is a mix of both modern and wartime. This looks like hours of research. Enjoy!
