kaszanka Posted August 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2018 Hello All ! Just wanted to share this little group to a Sgt. in 45th division . Hope you like it. Co "H" 12/28/27 157th Inf. hope you like it

kaszanka Posted April 23, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted April 23, 2019 Great stuff! Thanks for the pics. I didnt want to start new thread... figured I resurrect this one. I have a question though - I was thinking about building a mannequin impression around this set of gear. Question is - what uniform should I use for this period - its 1926-27 - do I use M17 or M18 uniform - WW1 style with black discs ? or use early golden discs ? or maybe a early melton wool M26 tunic ? obviously finding a real untouched 45th tunic with swastika patch will be hard.. I could put one together i guess - but I am not sure what uniform/discs/patch setup would be the best ? any advice ?

kaszanka Posted April 24, 2019 Author Share #10 Posted April 24, 2019 I missed this post the first time around, incredible that everything is marked, what a great set. Thank you Sir ! did some research today as I was able to put my hands on "Encyclopedia of USArmy Insignia and Uniforms" by W.K.Emerson, going by this book in 1923 there was a change to gilt buttons and discs... therefore a nice olive drab cotton made tunic with standing collar would be very nice i guess I got a pair of 157th discs not long ago - I guess that may come in handy (will need H company disc instead of K of course)
