Old Marine Posted August 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2018 My question concerns the signature on the watercolor of the mule. I picked up these 2 Mauldin books at a flea market years ago and the watercolor was tucked in the copy of "Up Front". But I'll get to that later. The interesting thing about these 2 books is that it looks like a soldier in the 34th Division sent the copy of "Mud Mules and Mountains" home to his wife or girl friend. And then in 1945 after "Up Front" was published it looks like she sent him a copy while he was still in the service. See the inscriptions from them in the next photos. Old Marine Posted August 23, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted August 23, 2018 My question to you is, does anyone recognize this watercolor or the artist's signature. I am just guessing, but I think this watercolor was more than likely done by someone in Italy. If anyone recognizes the style or the signature I would appreciate any thoughts or observations. Thanks Dennis
