Need help identifying my father's shoulder patch

I was just sent this photo of my Dad by a cousin. I've searched online myself but cannot find what unit patch is on his shoulder. Any help much appreciated.

That's the patch for the 2nd Coast Artillery District.

 

According to Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the U.S. Armed Forces 1941-1945 by Richard W. Smith: "The 2nd Coast Artillery District was redesignated as the New York-Philadelphia Frontier Defense Sector and was responsible for the harbor defenses from the Nantucket Shoals Lightship in the north to (roughly) the southern boundary of Delaware. The shoulder patch worn by the 2nd District was approved by the AGO on June 12, 1941, and displays two projectiles to indicate the unit's number."

 

It's kind of hard to tell in a black & white photo, but the three lighter vertical bars you see are the yellow background to two red artillery projectiles, which show up pretty close to the same shade as the olive drab background color of the patch & shirt. You should be able to find an image with a Google search.
