doyler Posted August 6, 2018 Share #4 Posted August 6, 2018 Many of these knives were made from scrap metal that was available. Hard to determine exactly what or where the metal came from unless the veteran related the story. Often knives could be made from old files or saw blades as well. There was a local man who produced knives during the war from files and they had cast aluminum grips. Some were marketed and sold through a area sporting goods store. alloutww2 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted August 6, 2018 The person who sold it to me only said that it was plexiglass from a downed aircraft, not being specific in the type of aircraft.
