Air Transport Cmd Leather Name Tape - What language is this?

Hello all.

Pictured name tape (and other items) are part of a uniform group I have.

Clearly, the insignia indicates this man was in the Air Transport Command, with service in the EAME. From what I have read, either the "North African Campaign and the Middle East" or the "European Campaign."

My questions are:

1.What language is on the name tape, and what does it "say";

2. Can we identify what ATC unit, squadron, etc. the man was assigned to?

His BIRLS record indicates service from 15 Aug 1941 to 17 Oct 1945.

Thanks in advance.

You have the guy's name in two languages- Arabic above and Chinese below.

Allan

Thanks Allan. That is quite interesting and leads to further thoughts and questions, not necessarily directed to you.

Hopefully there are some ATC experts out there who can shed further light on this.

1. If his name tag has Arabic and Chinese language, is it then safe to infer that he/his unit flew through the "Middle East" to India to China? I read of a "South Atlantic Route" (from the US) that flew/worked through those areas.

2. Does that AAF bullion patch appear to be Mediterranean (Italy?) made, or CBI made?

Thanks to all for any more thoughts on this.

Yes , most ATC followed the same route. Most time from US to Canada then to Greenland. After that to Europe then North Africa/Egypt then on to India or China.

Your AAF patch looks like 95% of what most ATC guys/gals had from India.
