Help finding my grandfathers stuff

My grandfathers name was Bradley Robert Blanton Jr. He was born on July 8th, 1929. He was in the Marines. He served during the Korean war. He rose to the rank of staff sergeant. He was a forward observer for an 81mm mortar platoon. He fought in several major campaigns including Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir. He married my grandmother Mary Hattie Rutland in 1952. They had 3 kids (including my dad). My grandparents lived in the North Ms/Memphis Tn area for years. My grandfather was a Memphis firefighter for many years. Sadly my grandfather passed away on November 25th, 1988 at the age of 59. My grandmother passed away on August 24th, 2006 at the age of 76. They were married for 36 years. It is unknown what exactly happened to my grandfathers Marine dress blues, medals, dogtags, and other Military items. It is believed that an ex family member stole these items out of my grandparents home after my grandfather passed and while my grandmother was suffering from Alzheimer's. I would love to locate these items. I appreciate any help at all. His serial number was 1089421. He served from 1948 - 1952. More than likely these items could still be in the Memphis Tn/North Ms area. I myself collect old military stuff and I regularly go to antique stores, flea markets, estate sales, gun shows, etc adding items to my collection and also hoping to come across my grandfathers military items. I have made a couple videos as tributes to my grandfather on my military YouTube channel called JonBoy09. Please reach out to me with any leads or information. Thanks and God Bless.

Hey JonBoy,

While I don’t have any of your grandfathers items I’ll make sure to keep an eye out, would like to say that I have seen a lot of your videos on YouTube and I want to compliment you on your collection. Hopefully we’ll see you on the forum more!

Good luck on your search,

Hunt

Jonboy, what exact unit was he in? I have a yard long on my wall that is ID'd to a mortar company. A cool picture! Everyone is in fatigues, helmets and w/carbines. The photo was taken in 1950, right before they shipped out. I'm outside right now and will chack the caption later. Who knows - maybe your dads in there!

Hey there,

My grandfather was in the 3rd Battalion/ 5th Marine Division. It would be awesome if it was a picture with him in it. Thanks for reaching out to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks Jonathan

The photo I have is of: Weapons Company 2nd Bn 7th Marines 1st Marine Division. Taken at Camp Pendleton in August 1950

Darn, well I appreciate you taking the time to check for me. I am hopeful that one day the missing items will be found and returned to our family.

Thanks Jonathan
