avigo Posted July 30, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2018 Looking to paint a roof rack basket I have OD green. Trying to get the most accurate shade I can. I bought both of the rustoleum came paints (in "army green" and "Dark forest") The "Army Green" looks nothing like military green to me. The forest green might be close. (Forest on top and army on bottom in pic below) Does anybody have any other options on spray paints? Or thoughts on how these two look? Thanks! 72psb Posted July 30, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 30, 2018 Try Rapco. They have many shades to choose from and are reasonably priced and they ship quick. I use their Listerless "Khaki" olive drab for SPH 4 helmets.

avigo Posted July 31, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted July 31, 2018 Thanks guys! I got the Lusterless "Khaki" olive drab from Rapco. Since this will be on the top of my car in the elements 24/7, should I clear coat it? If so, does anybody have any recommendations for a clear coat? Thanks! 72psb Posted July 31, 2018 Share #6 Posted July 31, 2018 I would leave it.Let it age.Touch ups would be easier also.
avigo Posted July 31, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted July 31, 2018 The surface right now is powder coated. Should I sand and prime or paint right on it?
72psb Posted July 31, 2018 Share #8 Posted July 31, 2018 Never painted over powder coat.Give it a sand to give the paint some tooth and see if it will stick. The question is will it stay.
