Dogsbody Posted July 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2018 Hello all, I'm not a collector of field gear as such but every now and then I like to pick up some of these items (probably because I'm a little accident prone myself, haha). First up are 3 M1924 pouches (dated 1940, 1941 and 1942) and 2 M1942 pouches (dated 1943 and 1945). The 1945 one is OD7 coloured. Next up are 2 JQMD 1942 pointy flap pouches:

Dogsbody Posted July 29, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted July 29, 2018 continued A collection of carlisle bandage tins (the one on the lower right is made of plastic) and a waxed cardboard one for the M1942 pouches.

mrrm Posted August 4, 2018 Share #13 Posted August 4, 2018 Nice "neat" clean collection of first aid/bandage pouches and jungle first aid pouches. A collection does not need to be large in numbers to be interesting. You have very nice examples of each item. Question, what is the earliest date anyone has seen for the jungle first aid kit pouch? Browninggunner688 Posted August 4, 2018 Share #14 Posted August 4, 2018 Very nice examples of dressing pouches and jungle first aid kits. Well done @mrrm. The earliest date on the jungle first aid kits is 1943. There is a thread on the forum somewhere about these kits, dates and manufacture's detail's. dustin Posted August 6, 2018 Share #16 Posted August 6, 2018 Supposidly the Pouch M2 was adopted 17 August 1943. I'm curious where that date originates from?
mikie Posted August 6, 2018 Share #17 Posted August 6, 2018 It's a good thing you don't collect these, otherwise you may find yourself with a very nice representative collection of first aid pouches and contents. And I'm sure you wouldn't want that. Mikie
