Hi Folks: I attended a recent estate sale and had to purchase these books...

1. "ROUGH RIDERS" by Roosevelt copyright 1899 published 1920... The great thing bout this book is that it has "MUSTER OUT ROLLS" listing soldiers

2. "THE GREAT CRUISE of 1925" by Samuel Wheeler Beach ...about a cruise of three Battle Ships USS Nevada, USS Pennsylvania, USS Oklahoma & USS Seattle Flagship...in the Pacific...

3. "A HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES" by Wilbur F. Gordy copyright 1898, 1899, 1904, 1910, 1911, 1913, 1914, 1916....this book I just had to have it since I wanted to know this period point of view history....vs. being re-written etc...

I may have posted these books in the wrong area...and I apologize but I love history...and I thought I'd share

They look like great books. The first "muster out" page shown lists most troopers as being from Arizona and the second shows troopers mostly from New Mexico. Interesting. I'll have to see how the Rough Riders were recruited.
