avigo Posted July 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2018 Hey guys. I've seen some WWII era things with the Air Corps propellor/wings logo that says "Air Force" or "Air forces". Why is this? Was the early Air Force logo still the Wings/propellor Air Corps logo? Just need some history on this. Thanks! bobgee Posted July 24, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2018 Nice AAFHA site. Curious though, since the "Air Corps" was abolished in 1943 why did it continue as a branch of service (A.C.) in the U,S..Army? Wonder why the BOS was not changed to AAF rather than continuing A.C.? Anybody? I pose this question understanding that the United States Air Force (USAF) became a separate branch of the Armed Forces in 1947. Just wondering..........Bobgee
