khakiweb Posted July 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2018 Any ideas about this padded/insulated container? It measures approx. 27" high x 13" across.
doyler Posted July 23, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2018 I use to see these a lot around the area here. Was my understanding they were a early type of cooler for Milk, cream, ice cream. We had lots of dairy farms here at one time.
khakiweb Posted July 23, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted July 23, 2018 Interesting; so not necessarily a military/GI item then?
gomorgan Posted July 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2018 I think they were mostly used on the civilian side, but military could of used them also, remember ice cream being dipped out of one when I was a kid..
RememberThe5thESB Posted July 25, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 25, 2018 It almost looks like a 1970s-1980s or so Canadian Army thermos carrier/insulator. Seems to be about the right size too. Sent from my SM-J327V using Tapatalk
khakiweb Posted October 13, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted October 13, 2018 Found a very similar one in a display of antique farm equipment in a local museum, and the commercial logo on it was definitely non-GI; so I guess it's strictly a civilian item, though it'll still look good in my MBT with jerry cans, mermite, and assorted other gear.
