usmce4 Posted July 20, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2018 This isn't exactly an edged weapon, but it IS related and I think alot of you guys might enjoy seeing this. I found it in a flea market the other day. It is definitely old - solid wood, not modern flakeboard. it weighed a ton. Much nicer in person than in the pics. It was dirty - just needed some TLC. No damage at all except the key was missing. The seller was dying to get rid of it - his first asking price was $20, when I passed he said "make me an offer, don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings. I probably could have gotten it for $5 --- $10 tops. It would be in my den now but the problem was I'm one of those old guys you see in the tiny sports car they couldn't have when they were kids (no, it's not red, but the lady next to me IS blonde ) ......no way to get it home! suwanneetrader Posted July 20, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 20, 2018 My son has his KaBar knife collection in one we bought out of a closed Hardware Store in West Palm Beach, FL in about 1976. At that time he was the youngest member of the Ka-Bar knife Collector's Club. A Ka-Bar company officer was so impressed with him they made 5 special knives with wooden Dog's Head display cases for awards at the Florida Gun Collector' Show 7-17-1979. He still has it but in a spare room at his home. Sadly he no longer collects. I thought you might like some background on this case that was furnished to dealers most likely in late 1950s. sundance Posted July 20, 2018 Share #10 Posted July 20, 2018 Perhaps you could have just bought the Ka-Bar plaque. That would be a neat pickup.
