I found these pictures the other day at a second hand store. I had never heard of this event, and had to look it up. The 1st Division held a circus on July 11th-12th, 1919 in occupied Germany in the town of Montabaur. The circus was held to entertain the troops. It consisted of a parade and a three ring circus of entertainers. These are pictures of the parade.

great images and a wonderful representation of how the AEF / AFG entertained themselves after the armistice.   Thanks for posting.
