7thEvac Posted July 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2018 I've had this knife for 20 years and always wondered how it came to be. It's made from a German Officer's sword. I can't imagine someone cutting down a good sword. So I always assumed it was made from a broken one. The sheath has a cut down scabbard inside. It's marked "Alcoso", for Alexander Coppel. GI bring back?

Tony V Posted July 18, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 18, 2018 It does look like a cut down Imperial German army officers sword with the "P" guard removed. Made from around 1890 through WWII used also by civilian as well as military. Nice example Tony
