Remembering My Dad on the 20th Anniversary of His Passing

My dad, Donald J. Buckmaster, passes-away 20 years ago from cancer.

He enlisted in the Marines right after Pearl Harbor and discharged as a Staff Sargeant.

He didn't talk about the war very much, just saying he was stationed in Hawaii and later the Phillipines. I still miss him.

The b&w photo is him the day he got back home.

Wow, Marine Raider. Rest in peace SSG Buckmaster.

That’s quite a ‘ladder’ of weapons qualifications as well.

Your Father looks like a very dapper fellow. It's good you can continue to celebrate his life with your memories and thank him for giving you your own.

Great Photo's, RIP Marine. I hope his war didn't scar you growing up. Sometimes that happens to our kids.
