7thEvac Posted July 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 16, 2018 Got this in Las Vegas for $40 last week. I love these items for their creativity and use of available materials. Appears to be a M3 knife with a cut down guard and metal stars attached to the leather handle. The sheath has an ID bracelet with "Joseph Almeida" inscribed and what looks like a pre-WW2 "coffin-style" 1LT bar. Haven't found this solders info yet. Blade was really rusty and the sheath looked like they were laying in a puddle of oil for 50 years!
dustin Posted July 16, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 16, 2018 That looks more like a post WWII civilian/commercial M3 style knife manufactured by Kutmaster or Kiffe. probably a Korean era or Vietnam era piece. The guard and pommel appear to be aluminum or zinc cast type material.
SKIPH Posted July 16, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 16, 2018 I'm inclined to agree with Dustin. I think it is a post war variation, which was well used. SKIP
sundance Posted July 17, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2018 I like these knives also. Almost anything that individualizes a knife is a plus in my book (almost). ,,,,and $40. including a sheath is something you can live with.
KRIS FORD Posted August 1, 2018 Share #5 Posted August 1, 2018 In reality, those stars are a terrible idea! Ya know, if you REALLY had to grip up on it and USE it..they'd cut into your hand! I like the rest though!
