no idea what it is for or time period. any body pin point this??? not even sure if it is ww2. number on back is a patent number.

Would the patent number possibly help denote date?....Appears to depict the USN and the Pacific....Whether it's from WW2, I don't know.....Bodes

News item - The Summit Herald, Thursday December 4th, 1947, Summit, New Jersey page 8

 

"A total travel distance equaling 12 trip around the world in 14 months is the flight record of Seaman R. L. Wickham, enlisted flight orderly of the Naval Air Transport Service. In flying 200,000 miles in that time, Wickam served NATS passengers 4,320 inflight meals"

Contrary to the Flying Tiger description in the link I posted above, I don't believe the duties of a USN flight orderly included nursing or medical training.
