Generally speaking, I tred very lightly when it comes to Vietnam Special Forces patches and tend to err on the side of caution with most I come across. However, these were fairly inexpensive and I thought they might have a glimmer of legitimacy. I thought the silk weave patch might look good. The CCN top piece on the MLT-1 patch is actually a separately sewn on piece. If anyone has any opinions or thoughts or recognizes these please let know what you think.

Oh wow! Thank you VP, I appreciate the confirmation. I had spent the past couple of days looking on-line for examples of the MLT-1 patch but just couldn't find any examples made similar to this one. Where do you think this one might have been made?

The MLT is Vietnamese made but not one that was made for collectors.

Thank you once more VP. In that case, if not made for collectors would this be the type of patch that would have been worn and used by an actual MLT-1 team? It show traces around the edges of having been sewn on something before but I know that does not necessarily confirm or prove anything.

Could have been worn by a team member or one of the helicopter crews that were used to fly them in and out of missions.

I have a brain fart and can not remember the name of the SVN patch. But it is a nice one, not cheap either.

Thanks firefighter. I have found it being identified as the Liaison Department which looks like it gathered intelligence and performed special missions. Here is a MACV SOG website that details some of their activities http://sogvietnam.bl...-operation.html
