I have had this 8th AF pilot's ETO Jacket for 25 years. Have never been able to identify the two names in the Jacket- "Mich Holland" and "R.F. Calvin". An odd thing about this jacket is it has 5 overseas bars (2 1/2 years) but only has Lt rank insignia. Could be he was overseas enlisted first and them went through pilot training. Also have the Meritorious Service insignia on lower right sleeve. Any ideas on how to identify these two officers who wore this jacket? Could it be that Holland Michigan is what is meant by Mich Holland?

Yes it does, it also looks artificially aged. Look at the left wing one area looks heated or torched

I am open comments and opinions on the bullion insignia. I bought the uniform from a collector in 1994. I know the Pakistanis have been making bullion patches for quite a while. I can do better close ups of any of the insignia that would help the more experienced persons give an opinion. I am not an expert on bullion insignia. I also bought a 14th AF uniform with bullion insignia from the same guy at the same time and will post photos of that uniform in a day or two. If they're bad or good, I would like to know the truth.

I'm almost 100 percent positive that it is Holland, Michigan. It was fairly common to use the Mich abbreviation during this time period.

Unfortunately I can't comment on the authenticity of the coat but I have had items that I worried about only to find out they were fine.

I tried looking up R.F. Calvin using a few data bases but nothing popped...yet (I love these types of mysteries)!
