Unusual 4 inch Navy Wing

I was able to purchase this wing on eBay. I've never seen another like it.

Can anyone here shed any light on it for me?

Yes please... whats the back look like? My gut tells me this is not a regulation Navy wing.

Too big and the silver shield etc etc. I think its Jewelry?

Dunno why I didn't think of that. Here is the reverse.

There are unmarked navy wings but they are only slightly larger than 23/4 inches.... and no silver.

Study up before you buy. I might be wrong about your wings but Im pretty sure they are a jewelry piece.

I guess we're all after different things. I wanted the wing because it looked to be jeweler made.

At one time a lot of high ranking aviators commissioned jeweler made wings, some for themselves,

some for their wives/girlfriends. My goal was to add something unique to my collection. The post

here was intended to see if others were familiar with it........Owen

I rekon you are right. Ive seen those before on ebay, but was looking for ww2 and earlier.
