Posted July 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2018 While going through some papers my father gave me when he was flying refueling missions (KC-135s) out of Utapao, Thailand with the 307th Strategic Wing as part of the Young Tiger Mission, I found this rather amusing titled memorandum called; “Share a Boner Program”. The memo was part of a welcoming packet to new flight crews arriving in country. I would imagine that the senior ranking officers and NCOs took the word boner to mean its primary definition of; “a stupid mistake” but the junior officers and enlisted had to have had quite the laugh. I find it odd that a clerk typist or someone else in the safety division didn’t inform Lt Col Sanguinet (author of the memo) the secondary meaning of the word.
